Day 5 (12 June 2018) Kargil(Ladakh ) to Leh Distance (216KM)

Kargil to Leh has 216KM normally 5.30 hours route. Enrote to Leh will be going through clean and straight roads, scenic views of valleys, clear sky, Lamayuru Monastery and Gurudwara Pathar Sahib. We want to leave early in the morning but as our friend's bike got damaged near Drass, we have to take that from bike mechanic. They came very late at shop we were waiting after him. He came at 10 and then start work on the bike and we end up at 11.30. We were not sure about this latency otherwise we can explore places near by. By the way now we are ready to rock for Leh town.........

having Langar at Gurudwara Sahib

Langar hall of Gurudwara Sahib

We decide to stay here so our tent outside the Gurudwara Sahib.

After the long journey we were tried and hungry. We got hot tea served at Gurudwara Pathar Sahib Langar. It was very cold at that time. I was in half sleeve t-shirt as my jacket was packed in luggage. My body was shivering in the cold. Very cold winds were blowing at that time. The hot tea saved me.
After tea we have our dinner at Langar hall. The whole taking car of Gurudwara is managed by Indian Military with very proud. You can't stay inside the Gurudwara as of security concern of the Military persons taking care there, so they allow us to camp our tent outside. It was very nice experience. While camping I looked at sky and you won't believe it was awesome. The sky full of stars and stars are very where. I have't see that much of stars in my life. Thanks for Indian Military.
Leh is about 25 KM from here will move towards Leh tomorrow.
